Principal’s Message

Dear All Star Students & Parents,

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I officially WELCOME you to the 2018 – 2019 school year.   Ashe will focus on ensuring that every child makes progress in reading and math.  The Ashe staff looks forward to academic excellence and a year of great learning experiences for all students.   We encourage you to partner with us to help your child have an awesome year!  We are a Leader in Me school in which we embrace the 7 effective habits.  We are devoted to ensuring that our school is safe, efficient and supportive so that all students feel valued and encouraged to lead toward their personal best. The All-Star teachers make all the difference! Their personal connections and attention are key to an outstanding academic experience for each child.   With combined efforts, it will be a great year for you and your child.   We look forward to seeing each student when they arrive to school on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Pre-K & Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM in the café & classrooms.  Kindergarten parents, please make sure you have turned in all necessary documentation to the office for complete registration.  We will host a “Meet your Seat” for all students on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM to allow students an opportunity to find their classroom, meet his or her teacher and drop off supplies. This day is optional so if you are unable to come, rest assure we will help your child find his or her classroom on the first day of school.   We look forward to seeing everyone on Back to School Night, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 6:30 PM. 

Please know that you can access online viewing of your child’s grades and teacher assignment in the Parent Portal of PowerSchool, this feature is available for all students in grades 2 through 5. You should use your child’s student identification number that can be found on the report card to maintain access to your child’s information.

We will continue to celebrate the success of our children this year! I am strongly encouraged by all that our students can do and believe that we will continue to achieve success!  Our school theme is Academic Success-Under Construction.  I am excited about another school year!  Attached to this letter is the September calendar of events.
