Principal’s Message

Hello All Star Families,

I hope this message finds you and your family well.  Prior to school beginning in the fall, there are a few opportunities that your child can participate in to keep their skills sharp.

ALL students may access summer academic programming through HCPS’s Edflix Season 3 which will begin on July 13. Click here to access all of Edflix Season 3 activities for each grade level.  These offerings are being made available to prepare all students for the start of the next school year with additional LifeReady learning experiences through several pathways. What’s important and different from previous years is that content review and enrichment experiences are being made available to all students.

If your child has an IEP, Ms. Veronica Roldan, an exceptional education teacher, will offer office hours for Ashe students who are not receiving ESY services on Monday through Thursday from 10:00 – 11:15AM during the period of July 13 – August 6.  These office hours are designed to offer you an opportunity to connect with a special education teacher if your child requires special accommodations to engage in the Edflix activities.  Accommodations include reading materials aloud or providing access to assistive technology and might also include breaking larger tasks into smaller chunks.  You will have the opportunity to sign up for a time slot weekly by emailing Ms. Roldan at varoldan@henrico.k12.va.us.  We are so fortunate that our school division has provided the resources to support students who may need accommodations; however, keep in mind the resources are limited.  If you choose to take advantage of this opportunity, then please read carefully the description of the type of support being offered as outlined on the sign up page.  As we approach the start of the next season of Edflix (July 13), Ms. Roldan will be sending the sign up link out to families who are interested in this support.

Please also note that all students continue have access through CLEVER to the following digital resources for your child:  BrainPOP, TumbleBook Library, NearPod, Study Island, SmartyAnts, ImagineMath, Wixie, WeVideo, PebbleGoNext, StorylineOnline, LexiaCore5 Reading, RAZ Plus.  Your child just needs to login through Clever and learn away.
